Spiritual Health Assessment

A Spiritual Health Assessment can provide you with the opportunity to help those in your group identify what their next step might be and position you to help them see it through. Here are a few simple ways that you can ensure you get the most out of this opportunity.

First, before you hand out the assessment to your group talk them through the fact our core values are not just cool artwork, we all really do have a next step and sometimes we need some help identifying what that might be. Encourage everyone to be honest and really think through what is true in their life.

Second, after handing out the assessment and providing enough time for everyone to complete it, bring the conversation around the results and what people can take away. To help navigate the discussion you can find a handful of questions in the leaders guide that can get the conversation started and keep it moving. It is recommended to have a few handpicked questions ready for the discussion.

Next, as the conversation comes to a close take a moment to encourage everyone in the group to identify one step they can take as a result of the assessment and conversation. The assessment provides perspective and understanding, the resulting action is what produces growth.

Lastly, after the group ends and everyone heads home, take the Group Assessment. This will let us know how it went, where your group is and how we can best be positioned to help.

Your Next Step. The opportunities this provides for you will continue in the coming weeks, look for chances to have the conversations that need to happen with your group members. Your challenge is to take advantage of the time before and after group, on Sundays as well as any time you may be able to connect during the week to have those conversations. You may also want to consider the conversation tonight as you think through upcoming studies and topics for your group to go through.

We want to make the most of every opportunity that comes our way and use it to help others become more like Jesus. This is no different, use the tool, look for the opportunities and make the most of them.
